Fishing:
As well as the commercial fishing industry for which Peterhead's
proximity with the North Sea is famous, there are many forms
of leisure fishing available:
The River Ugie
Day permits (£30 per day) to fish the Ugie for Sea-Trout
and Salmon are available from
- Acumen Accountant, Balmoor Industrial
Estate (round the corner from the fire-station).
- Waterside Inn, Fraserburgh Road, Peterhead
- Palace Hotel, Prince St. Peterhead
Harbour-pier sea-fishing
Peterhead is famed for its pier fishing; with anglers traveling
from all over Scotland to catch Cod, Mackerel, Pollock, Ling
and even the occasional Squid!
Inshore boat-fishing
Some small-boat owners are available to take anglers on day-fishing
trips.
Stocked fisheries
There are several managed fishing lakes in the Buchan area,
for which day permits are available.
