St. Fergus:

St Fergus is a small village 3 miles north of Peterhead, best known for its adjacent Gas Terminal. It has long been a peaceful and popular place to live - as demonstrated by fast expansion of quality housing built by private developers over the past decade.

St Fergus lies a mile (1.5 km) from the North Sea coast. It comprises a Kirktown to the west and a Newtown to the east and takes its name from an Irish bishop who built a basilica here in the early 8th Century. Since 1977 St Fergus has been one of the most important terminals handling gas from the Frigg field in the North Sea.
