Research Centres
Peterhead Registrars Office:
Aberdeen Council, Arbuthnot House, Peterhead.
(Registration documents, as far back as 1855, can be accessed as scanned images at any of the local Registration Offices in Aberdeenshire. These offices also have access to scanned images of the 1871, 1891 and 1901 censuses and indexes of the Old Parish Records and the 1881 census.)

NOTE: The former district of Boddam was incorporated into the modern Peterhead District in 1931.The former districts of Crimond, Longside and St Fergus were incorporated into Peterhead in 1968.

Specific Registers held at Peterhead are as follows
Peterhead Births: 1902 to present.
Crimond, Longside and St Fergus Births: 1900 to 1967.
Peterhead Deaths: 1940 to present.
Crimond, Longside and St Fergus Deaths: 1940 to 1967.
Peterhead Marriages: 1940 to present.
Crimond, Longside and St Fergus Marriages: 1940 to 1967.

The following cemetery burial records are also held at Peterhead Registrars Office;
Balmoor from 1954, Constitution from 1869, Grange from 1992, Longside Churchyard from 1875, Longside Cemetery from 1913, St Fergus Churchyard from 1854 and St Peters Churchyard from 1706.

Arbuthnot Museum, St Peters Street, Peterhead, open Monday to Friday from 11am to 4pm
Peterhead Heritage Centre, The Lido, Peterhead Bay. This is currently restricted to being open to the public only during the summer period.
